Statoil Indonesia Karama A.S.. (as operator for Production Sharing Contract with BPMIGAS for the Karama block on behalf of itself and of its co-ventures) plans to start exploration drilling in the ultra deep waters of West Sulawesi in 2009.
Initial plan is for 3 wells. Statoil Indonesia Karama A.S. is part of
the StatoilHydro Corporation, worlds largest offshore operator.
For this reason we are seeking candidates for the following positions :
DRILLING ENGINEER
Tasks :
• Plan and follow up the offshore drilling operations in close
relationship with other engineers, other project disciplines and with
involved service companies.
• Obtain and verify all collected and relevant drilling data
• Work with quality assurance, risk and cost/benefit analysis
• Utilise cost-effective working methods, tools and technology
• Must be able to travel
• Will as needed during drilling also work off-shore
Required skills :
• University degree in drilling/petroleum.
• Needs to speak and write English.
SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER
Tasks :
• Experienced drilling engineer with offshore experience, preferable
from floating drilling rigs and deep water operations.
• Be responsible for drilling and completion design.
• Be highly focused on HSE related issues and Work with Quality Assurance
• Will coach a small group of engineers
• Experience transfer internally and towards external companies in
both the planning and operational phase
• Must be able to travel
• Will as needed also work offshore.
Required skills :
• University degree in drilling/petroleum
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
CSR CONSULTANT
Tasks :
• Develop and execute social responsibility plans and activities in
line with Statoils corporate guidelines and requirements and in
collaboration with the Statoils CSR functions
• Oversee and quality assure social impact assessments
• Plan and participate in reviews, audits and verifications
• Participate in communication and approval processes with regard to
the authorities
• Contribute to the development of methods, computer models (tools),
good practices and governing documents
• Represent Statoil in collaboration fora/work groups within the CSR
discipline
Required skills :
• University/college social science education on master level or above
• At least 5-10 years relevant experience
• Hands-on familiarity with international social standards and tools,
including social impact assessments
• Strong analytical skills and deliveries on challenging tasks
HSE CONSULTANT
Tasks :
• Conduct environmental assessments of concepts and technical solutions
• Plan and participate in reviews, audits and verifications
• Plan and follow up work relating to waste management, chemicals
management and oil spill response planning
• Participate in communication and approval processes with regard to
the authorities
• Contribute to the development of methods, computer models (tools),
good practices and governing documents
• Represent Statoil in collaboration fora/work groups within the
environmental specialist discipline
Required skills :
• Graduate engineer or higher education
• At least 5-10 years relevant experience working with environmental
and/or process technology in project planning or operation.
• Good knowledge of Indonesian authoritative bodies regulating
Indonesian oil and gas activities.
• Good understanding of Indonesian marine environment and its
particular sensitivities.
• Good knowledge of International best practices and standards and
requirements with respect to oil and gas production activities.
PROCUREMENT OFFICER
Tasks :
• Responsible for the Procurement process
• Prequalification and procurement strategies
• Establishing enquiry packages (Tender and contract documents, ITT)
• Carrying out contract formulations and contract evaluations
• Manage contract negotiations
• Contract administration
• Establish and maintain contract register
• Preparation and implementation of relevant procedures
• Guiding the project in all procurement related matters
• Contract close-out and experience reporting
Required skills :
• University degree or similar
• At least 5-10 years relevant experience, preferably within the oil
and gas industry
• Good understanding of Indonesian laws and regulations
• Good knowledge of Indonesian authoritative bodies regulating
Indonesian oil and gas activities.
• International experience desirable.
• Good computer skills in general
• SAP experience preferable
• Fluently in English - oral and written

regulatory environment of the oil and gas
• Good understanding of offshore oil and gas producing installations
and associated onshore facilities.

Based on the successful applicants needs, training will be provided
International as well as locally. Training assignment in Norway or in
other deep water operations is likely.
